History Of Paisley Design
Paisley is a popular name in Western, which derives it name from the town of Paisley, in central Scotland. Paisley is a medieval designing pattern that actually owes to Persia and India. Resembling a large comma or twisted teardrop, the kidney shaped paisley is Indian and Persian in origin. The pattern is still famous in central Asian countries. In Iran and Uzbekistan its used in diverse other places like paintings, jewelry, frescoes, curtains, quilts, carpet, garden landscaping, pottery and many others. In India Paisley is often identified with psychedelic style and associated with Indian spirituality. The design had gained much popularity when famous John Lennon had embalmed the design on his Rolls Royce in 1967. Even the popularity of Paisley designs went to its pinnacle when artist Prince had created the Paisley Park recording label and established Paisley Park Studio.
Difference Between Indian And European Shawls
